Simulating the Brain

Along with increased advances in robotics, medicine, travel, and computing, many people agree that neuroscience (particularly engineering an artificial brain equal to or greater than in intelligence than ours) will be one of the major industries paving the way for a radically different future.  Is this announcement a true milestone or just a little pebble of hype?
